Lash Extension Aftercare: Keep Your Lashes Fresh, Fluffy & Long-Lasting

Just had your lashes done? Follow these simple aftercare steps to protect your lash extensions, boost retention, and keep that freshly-fluffed look for weeks—without irritation or heavy maintenance.

Proper lash extension aftercare is the secret to beautiful, long-lasting results. Below you’ll find clear, easy steps on how to care for eyelash extensions, what to avoid, and when to book infills—perfect for first-timers and regulars alike.

1) Keep Lashes Dry for the First 24 Hours

Avoid water and steam for the first 24 hours so the adhesive can fully cure. After that, gently cleanse with a lash-safe shampoo to keep your extensions clean and comfortable.

2) Skip the Mascara

Extensions replace mascara. Applying mascara creates buildup that’s hard to remove and may pull extensions out during cleansing. If you wear eye makeup, choose oil-free products and remove them with a lash-safe cleanser.

3) Avoid Oily or Greasy Skincare Around the Eyes

Oils can break down the adhesive and attract residue. Keep moisturisers, face oils, and rich creams away from the lash line. Use oil-free options for the eye area.

4) Brush Your Lashes Daily

Use the clean spoolie we provide to gently brush your lashes each morning. This keeps them separated, fluffy, and in shape—just like brushing your hair.

5) Don’t Perm, Tint, or Curl Extensions

Eyelash curlers and chemical treatments can bend extensions or weaken the bond. Your set is styled to lift the eye—no extra curling needed.

6) Don’t Pull or Pick

Tugging can remove your natural lashes and stress the follicles. If you’d like a break from extensions, book a professional removal for a safe, painless experience.

7) Avoid Saunas & Heavy Steam for 48 Hours

Fresh adhesive can soften under high heat and may sting. Skip saunas, steam rooms, and very hot yoga for at least 48 hours after your appointment.

8) Don’t Cut Your Extensions

As your natural lashes grow, a few extensions may sit slightly out of line—this is normal. Never trim them; instead, book an infill and we’ll rebalance your set.

How Long Do Lash Extensions Last?

With proper care, extensions typically look their best for 3–4 weeks. To maintain fullness, schedule infills every 2–3 weeks, depending on your natural lash cycle and lifestyle.
